What will the finance charges be if I only pay the $15 minimum on $353.00?

June 30, 2009 - 10:28 pm 3 Comments

It’s a wamu credit card.
The 3 transactions were made very late last month(that’s why I won’t receive the bill until late this month) and the due date will probably be in October 18-19

depends on what your interest rate is. You should always try to pay double the minimum that will cover the finance charges and you will not be going in the hole.

What happens if you rent a hotel room with an invalid credit card?

June 30, 2009 - 10:28 pm 7 Comments

Let’s say you check into a hotel and present a valid credit card with Id and stay for one night.

The next morning you leave the hotel at 5am and don’t pay or check out and take a cab to the airport.

When you get to the airport at 5:30am you call your credit card company and tell them you lost your credit card.

What would hotel staff do once you are already gone and they find out that they can’t bill your credit card? Would hotel management try to reach you by mail and by phone?

This is in the united states.

Sounds like an excellent way to get another "free" stay at taxpayer expense after you get charged with credit card fraud too. As the others have told you, this won’t work and could put you in a whole lot more difficulty than having to find the money for a hotel bill. The world needs more ethics, not less.

How does the Irish Education system work?

June 30, 2009 - 10:27 pm 2 Comments

I’m Australian and so have no idea how the Irish educational system works. Could someone please explain (preferably someone from Ireland) how it works. I don’t care about the University/College level (Third level is it?). I just want to know about the compulsory stuff.

The Compulsory part of the Irish education system is Primary School from age 5 to Junior Certificate at age 15/16.

Primary Cycle
Junior Infants
Senior Infants
1st Class to 6th Class

Junior Cycle
1st to 3rd Year (Approximately 10 subjects taken) English, Maths and Irish are mandatory for Irish citizens and residents for +7years

Transition Year (optional)

Senior Cycle
5th to 6th Year (Approximately 7 subjects taken) English, Maths and Irish are mandatory for Irish citizens and residents for +7years

What dog breeds are banned in the Republic or Ireland?

June 30, 2009 - 10:27 pm 4 Comments

I am trying to research information on what, if any, breeds are illegal to own / import into the republic of Ireland.
The Dangerous Dogs act 1991 or Breed Specific Legislation(BSL), as far as I am aware, does not apply in the republic only Northern Ireland as it is part of the UK.

The restricted breeds are American pitbull terrier; Bull Mastiff; Doberman Pinscher; English bull terrier; German Shepherd; Japanese Akita; Japanese Tosa; Rhodesian Ridgeback; Rottweiler and Staffordshire bull terrier

Please follow the link to learn more as there afre a lot of ins and outs to the BSL (Bull-S/hit Legisltaion)

for example:
"In respect of the 10 restricted breeds of dog, we acknowledge that a number of our tenants are responsible dog owners and have built up a relationship with one of these breeds and would, understandably, be upset if they had to give their dog away or have it put down," Vincent Healy from the council’s housing and residential services said.

"Accordingly we are happy to allow them to keep their dogs provided they agree to have them micro-chipped and neutered/spayed. "However, we remain steadfast in achieving our primary objective to ensure that our streets, parks, and council neighbourhoods are safe for people to walk and for children to play in.

"Where tenants persist in illegally keeping one of the 10 restricted breeds of dog in their home, the council will consider such action to be a breach of tenancy, will issue a notice to quit, and this could ultimately lead to eviction."

What is the best way to travel Ireland independantly?

June 30, 2009 - 10:27 pm 2 Comments

I am trying to help my brother plan his trip to Ireland May 2008. He already purchased tickets and will be traveling with one friend. He is a 21 year old college student seeking economical travel, willing to stay in hostils, and hoping to see many things in Ireland. Any suggestions how/where to start planning. Things to do/look for or not to do/look for? How to find info on Hostils, or travel suggestions? THANKS!

Sounds good - first of all go to the website of Bord Failte Eireann for hostels, B&Bs etc. Might be best if you can hire a car - public transport beyond the main routes (and on some of them) is still not up to main European standards.

Things to do? Dublin and Galway are a must, and try to hear Irish traditional music - also, this means you’ll be enjoying some fun pub nights. Go to a GAA hurling or Gaelic football match, try a day’s sea fishing, get to a race meeting if you can.

That’s just for starters - any ideas, anyone else?

amp and subs wattage help!!!!!!!!!!!??????

June 30, 2009 - 10:27 pm 5 Comments

i currently have a 2 channel amp that is capable of 190watts at 2 ohm. would my 2 200rms subs be underpowered ?

would it benefit me to upgrade to an amp that provided 375watts at 2 ohm? it would be a mono class a/b amp i ordered a week ago.

the subs are 200 rms and 400 max

any help would be much appreciated!!!

sparky is absolutly right, and i’ll even add even when the gains are set correctly you can clip the heck out of it if you turn it up past its intended volume… what you have likely heard is that to large a amp is better than to little, well that is true given they are trying to produce the same wattage. another words if you have a 500 watt sub then it is better to have a 1000 watt amp play at 500 watts than it is to have a 250 watt amp try to play 500 watts. but the best option would be a 500 watt amp to play the 500 watts. if you have a 1000 watt and you get "greedy" and push it to 600 watts you may be fine, but with too much power it will sound real clear, right up to when the sub blows and stops working… more than likely your’ll get a mechanical failure. (sub esentially self destructs of over extends) if you have a 250 watt amp, and you play 250 watts all is well (to little power is o.k.), but if you push it to sever clipping say 400-450 watts, that may blow the 500 watt sub, because it is not music it more noise, and that can make a sub thermally fail. but you should relize this does not happen withoput warning the sub will sound as if it is being overworked, and and the music will be severly distorted.
hope that helps…
