For Canadians, If my income for 2007 was $32,353.91?
How much tax should I have paid?
The amount varies by province, because your income taxes also include Provincial income taxes. The exact amount will also depend on whether you can claim any tax credits (children, RRSP, etc)
For example, in Quebec you could have paid $6200, but in Ontario it could be $4853
Ernst & Young, a large multinational accounting firm, has a tax calculator that will give you an estimate of what you should have paid:

You can also go to ufile.ca, or one of the other tax preparation software sites, and fill in your info. It’s free to do your return and see the taxes owed/refund amount because you only pay when you file. So you’ll get an *exact* amount that way
