anyone know some good accommodation in London that good price but safe and clean?
Hoping to go back to London either beg May or in Summer and know flights so cheap so not a problem but accommodation is.Want somewhere cheap and clean and safe as wil have my child with me also, not far from Tower Bridge.
There several great youth hostels scattered across the heart of London, including one right by St Paul’s Cathedral (just upriver of Tower Bridge, three stops on the District or Circle line from Mansion House tube, nearby.
Prices there start from £21.95 a night for adults and £16.50 for children up to 18 years old. Fantastic value. =)
The ‘YHA’ (Youth Hostels Association) is a bit of a misleading name — there are no restrictions on age at all, and you get a really happy mix of people including many families.
Here’s the hostel’s page on the YHA site: http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/london/hostels/london-st-pauls/index.aspx
And here’s exactly where it is (circle = St Paul’s hostel) — just scroll a bit to the right (eastward) and you’ll see how close Tower Bridge is: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|SE16%205PR#t=l&map=51.5119,-0.09059|16|4&loc=GB:51.51316:-0.1008:16|EC4V%205AB%20|EC4V%205AB
A bit further downriver, there’s another hostel by the Thames in Docklands (nearest station = Canada Water, on the Jubilee tube line and the DLR (Docklands Light Railway)). There’s also a riverbus stop very near (Nelson Pier), for trips up the Thames. The Thameside hostel would be good if you want to explore Greenwich and the Thames Barrier, but is also within easy reach of Tower Bridge.

From weekends spent in London; the best value is using the University halls of residence during the university vacations. Sadly I don’t know of one near London Bridge, sorry!

Da news man
The words ‘good price’ ‘safe’ and ‘clean’ and ‘London’ cannot be used in the same context. I’m ashamed to say that, being from England as I am, but it is unfortunately true. London is not safe, not inexpensive and not clean!

Very simple, search on Net.

Can you explain to us why you want to be close to Tower Bridge? Maybe that would help people help you.
IMO, as a tourist, you need a hotel close to a central Underground station – so that you can get around the city easily.
Around Earl’s Court are many cheap tourist hotels. Check them out. When you find something on the internet, look on the map and see how far exactly they are from the Underground station. I find that, by definition, it is much safer if you haven’t far to walk, than when you have far to walk.
Check out the official London tourism website.
They have a section on budget accommodation…
