Where should I find accommodation when visiting Movie World and Dream World?

I’m flying in from Gold Coast airport, and visiting Movie World and Dream World are my priorities. Which suburb/town should I look for accommodation? I have been unable to find holiday accommodation in Oxenford and Coomera. Please recommend suburbs/towns that would be convenient for me to stay at. Also, if you have a particular apartment/hotel/etc to recommend, please feel free to do so. Thanks!

Most of the holiday accommodation is located in the suburbs of Southport, Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burliegh and Miami. There’s not much out that way apart from at Hope Island. For a guide to suburbs with a map see http://www.goldcoastinfo.net/accommodation/

Movie World, Wet n Wild, Dreamworld are located between Oxenford and Coomera, about 30-40 mins drive from Surfers Paradise, most people usually catch public bus http://translink.com.au/travel-information/visiting-south-east-queensland or one of the many shuttle bus services. Some hotels/resorts also offer theme park transfers. If there is a group, splitting the cost in a stretch limo can be fun and affordable http://www.mygoldcoastlimo.com

  1. I don’t think there is any accommodation at Oxenford and Coomera. Do a search on "Gold Coast accommodation" and look for somewhere along the coast. There is an extensive bus system that goes from all the Gold Coast hotels/apartments/etc to the theme parks (it’s like a production line!). I’ve stayed at a place called Turtle Beach Resort (I think) at Mermaid Beach. It’s an apartment complex so has all the trappings of pools, tennis, restaurant/cafe, blah, blah! Price was reasonable, the place was very clean and comfortable. Mermaid Beach is FULL of accommodation. The whole Gold Coast is geared up to accommodate people going to the fun parks.

  3. There’e Coomera Motor Inn within walking distance of Dream World ( 200metres) but it’s not fantastic.

    Better to stay in one of the tourist areas such as Surfers Paradise as the theme parks all have transport arrangements to get you to them.
