Ah right Indo European I havent gotten into that yet. Im crap at languages.
Daithi o hOgain has another idea of where the name Eriu comes from in an insular Irish way, the earliest tribes were called Erainn – the people of the land and Eriu from that would mean – the land. Eire being a modern Irish form of the Old Irish would mean the same. He doesnt explain the other names for Ireland like Banbha or Fotla or Mag Ealga though

Our ancestors knew who they were and knew their ideal. They lived with Noble values and acts.

Ireland is the Plain of the Aryans. We have ignored this [albeit momentarily] in these times.
