Is the voltage in Eire the same as in UK?

Do I need plug adapters? If so, can they be the same as the ones I take to Europe?

Technically the voltage in the Republic of Ireland is 200 / 220v, and the UK is 220 / 240v.
However, it does not make any difference with electrical appliances, once the correct fuse is in the common square 3 prong plug.

  2. No they’re the same so you don’t need those adapters at all! Places in Europe have different voltage alright but Ireland and the UK are the same :)

  3. Plugs and voltage are the same, but plugs on mainland Europe are different. You can buy an adaptor at the airport.

  4. The plugs and sockets are identical.

The only thing that is really different is the landline phone socket.
