For the first weekend in May? We are planning a road trip there, but the hotels downtown are either sold out or pricey! Since we are driving anyway, we figured we could stay somewhere around Chicago. It’s really going to be more of a relaxing trip. We are only planning to visit the Navy Pier, the Skydeck, a couple of good restaurants and whatever else catches our fancy. So what would be some good areas to search for hotels in?

Thanks!

There are a lot of mid-priced hotels near O’Hare airport that might work much better for you. Here’s why:

Parking at these hotels is free. Downtown hotels charge an extra $20-35 per day for parking with no in-and-out privileges – and you’re not going to find any street parking downtown anyhow.

If you can find one of the hotels along River Road or Cumberland Ave, most either are a walking distance from the "Rosement" or "Cumberland" Blue Line "L" stations – OR they offer a shuttle to them. It is a convenient 30-40 minute ride to the middle of downtown: no messing with parking (which costs a LOT, and can kill 20 minutes).

When you get to the Clark & Lake Blue Line subway station downtown, Michigan Avenue is a five to ten minute walk east.

The area near O’Hare is completely safe, and there are many hotels and other transportation options nearby.

Check out the Marriott, Hyatt (if you want to splurge), Doubletree, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Candlewood, Radisson web pages for information.

BTW, there is a Marriott Hotel at the intersection of Higgins Road and Cumberland, right around the corner of the Cumberland station. They are in a residential/commercial suburban location: they are not too costly ($80/night deals are available).

Also, call the hotels themselves (not the corporate site) because some of them offer unpublished discounts if you nag them.

(Under 20 Euros a night)
- Amsterdam
- Barcelona
- Paris
- Switzerland
- Croatia
- Greece

under 20 euros , your only options are the fore mentioned : street, and hostel. if you are in out of way place , in the country side, yes, possibly, but i doubt it . amsterdam, barcelona paris ??? !!! 200 euro may not be enough in paris. in amsterdam, its possible to have decent accommodations for under 80 euro. barcelona is about same, may be a tad cheaper, then amsterdam, but you have to shop around.

ok, 1st I do have some experience in car audio system installation like setting gain on amp, "tuning" the amp for best signal from the head unit, and the basic wiring configurations. Ok so here is my situation; I’m getting ready to upgrade to a higher end setup. Now my previous system only ran a pioneer 760 watt class a/b amp wired for a 2 ohm load , now im getting a kicker 300.1 mono block soon…all i really need to know is if this setup will warrant the use of a capacitor

If anything the Kicker is less powerful than the Pio so it’s very unlikely you’ll need power supply improvements if you didn’t need them before. Besides 300-400w rms is very little power as it relates to the alternator and battery.

Furthermore – there has NEVER been a car audio system that "needed" a capacitor in order to run optimally.
Caps are largely cosmetic. Their value in a car electrical system that only varies by a couple volts is insignificant.

you could try rip.ie If you know whereabouts in Ireland, you could also try to search for some newspapers local to that area…quite a few might be free publications which are published online as well as in paper form

My friends and I are planning a trip down to Cancun for our Spring Breaks. I was wondering what the best "party" hotels are down there. We like to drink and party, but we are all college students so obviously nothing too expensive.

Thanks in advance for the help!
Okay, maybe no one understands the question lol. I’m looking for a hotel.

During "spring break" every hotel is a party hotel they live for this time of year. Now one thing to remember is the Isla de Cancun or the "Hotel Zone" is divided by kilometers running north to south and marker 8 is the hot spot. So any hotel around here are the best. Fiesta, Dos Playas Intercontinental, Your best bet is talk to a travel agent telling them you want a hotel around kilometer marker 8 or contact one of those companies that specialize in spring break tours. Check your campus for posters regarding spring break trips.
Got another question just ask or contact me directly as I live here 24/7

The College Accommodation I live in is also where a class of foreign Muslims chose to spend the academic year and many have done things like instruct the other person in the apartment that the utensils in the kitchen provided by the accommodation are only to be used by them so they don’t touch meat which isn’t Halal.. How is the best way to go about handling this without causing a commotion?

Politely inform them that you are paying for these premises as much as them and if they need special utensils, they can buy their own and keep them in their rooms, or they can pay you not to use them as compensation for not been able to use equipment you have funded.

Or get onto the Uni about it. They’re your landlords. They can either move you or them, or inform them that the tenancy agreement applies to everyone, including Muslims.
