Yeah, Blacks in America took the name of their master after they were freed. So Black people have surnames of Anglo-Irish, Scotch-Irish, Scottish, English or Welsh origin. Some even have Germanic sounding surnames.

Not to be a smartass, but could it not be said that many African-Americans, a.k.a. Blacks are part Irish in that their last names are often Irish? Eddie Murphy? Kwame Kilpatrick (Scottish)? How many times have you seen blacks marching in the St. Patrick’s day parade?
