How do australian people view Irish people living in their country?

Just want to know what the general view of Irish people living there is. I know there are many Irish young people living there on a working holiday visa. Have they given themselves a bad or good reputation?! I am going to australia on a working holiday visa with my US gf and want to know what the general view of us is!!

Love different people being over here – it makes things more interesting. White Australia has no culture to speak of. Most Irish people are fun, fit in well with Aussies, and I think you’ll find a lot of Australian people will want to tell you all about how their family came from Ireland back in the day. I do it all the time – my ancestor stole a pig.

  1. I’d imagine the same way as Australians living in Ireland. Aussies and Kiwi often have to leave their home (usually to Europe and mainly U.K.) for work. They don’t have any problem with people from Ireland. They’re friendly, work hard and are respectful. You should be accepted more than your American girlfriend. They like American’s too, but people around the globe kind of have a thing against American’s (they see them as the noisy unintellectual trouble maker – AKA Nelson Muntz from the Simpons).
