    There are so many things wrong with this I can’t imagine you are even reading books. The “dixie” flag is commonly and correctly perceived as racist because it represented racist organizations for far longer then the few years it represented the south. And the south it did represent, was a champion of slavery, a racist state. Is that the same thing with the union flag?

    I dont feel racist standing next the union flag, but you are meant to (for some reason) and that is the problem. Its the same for american living in the south that sport the confederate flag. Which is commonly perceived as a racist flag, but if you look into history things are not so black and white. The american civl war was not about slavery it was about an industrial state versus an agricultural state.
