What are some good traditional irish recipes?
I have a culinary club at my school and I need to make something for the club soon. Since my family is irish I wanted to make a traditional irish dish. I would like it to be something interesting but doesn’t take to long to make. So what are some good traditional irish recipes?
what ever you bring, don’t bring corned beef. It was invented in the US and is NOT a traditional Irish meal.

colcannon is.
That’s tough. Traditional Irish food consisted of very simple ingredients. They at a lot of stew. You’ll have to google, but don’t plan to be impressed.
References :
Corned Beef and cabbage. You could even "corn" the beef yourself. (That’s soaking it in brine and peppercorns). Its delicious, simple, and easy to make. Good luck to you!

Potato features heavily in Irish food, and a lot of dishes are based on around meat and potato stews.
Lamb and also some seafood like Mussels were widely available in early Ireland, and so formed a big part of the diet too.
I guess the most famous Irish dishes I can think of are..
Bubble and Squeak
Colcannon
Soda Bread (not on its own, but to mop up the sauce from a stew)
Google for any of these and itll bring up a recipe.
I like Irish food but I wouldnt want to eat it day in day out, its quite heavy and stodgy I think
References :
I like "poundies" with green minted peas instead of green onions.
Mashed potatoes with minted peas folded in served like a volcano with a heap of softened butter in the crater.
As you eat from the base, you dip the forkful into the butter.
Great for the taste, but not for the figure, but worth it.
