Do cars in Republic of Ireland have steering wheels on the left or right side?

Someone told me that cars in the Republic if Ireland (i.e. not part of the UK) have their steering wheels on the left hand side as opposed to the UK’s right handed ones. I’m just wondering if this is true?

Also could someone please offer a link to a website where I can search second hand cars for sale there? Google offers nothing much… Cheers!!!

same as england UK on the right, look on ebay for ireland users and look up motors you should find a bargain on there

  1. Eire cars are the same as UK ones in that respect as they drive on the same side of the road as the UK

  4. Both – just in case they decide to change sides. I heard that they were going to change to driving on the right like continental europe, but to make it less confusing the lorries are going to change on 1st May and all other vehicles on 1st June.
