Does London have more population then the Republic of Ireland?

Does London have more population then the Republic of Ireland?? like the Whole of ireland i will be stunned if it does i heard it does have more population?? is it true?

Population of Republic of Ireland (without northern Ireland) 2009 estimate :4,459,300
Population of northern Ireland: 1,759,000
Population of Greater London: 7,512,400 (mid-2006)
Greater London : City of London, including Middle Temple and Inner Temple, and 32 London boroughs

So the answer is yes
