if northern Ireland reunites with the republic of Ireland would the St Patrick’s Cross be removed from the?

Possibly. There’s no way of knowing. There would be no reason to keep the cross on the flag, but it might be too much trouble to remove.

And Northern Ireland in its current state was never part of the Republic of Ireland, so you can’t really "re"-unite them.
