    I hear you my brother… for my 40th birthday (a few years ago) we saw her in NYC at the Carlyle Hotel. She came out in a caftan and we thought she had gotten away from herself. On one high note she dropped the coat and was in a painted on dress. It fit like a glove. She was amazing. At another point she looked at us and hit a high note as she dropped her foot/shoe on the grand piano and her hair about hit the ground. That lady KNEW how to put on a shot. Amazing!

    Eartha a class act that kept her beauty even up to the graceful age of 81. A lodestar for me the chawbacon of her days even up to today. Famous not just for being a touchstone in dance and style with grace but; videlicet, acting, outspokenness, a natural gift in leadership, strong drive with a conciliatory personality and look. Kickshaw of the world with an ineffable presence that made many gock and stare filled with joy inside. Ertha will be remembered, missed and is un-replaceable!
